EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES

Library

       The library is located on the first  floor of the Faculty's building, ninety - six seat are available for users. The library has approximately 14463 books, 19 periodicals, 156 master theses and 87 doctorate dissertations. Audiovisual materials such as video-tapes, transparencies, film strips, slides, and microfish are also found. Reference services are available using card catalog, computer retrieval system and data base support system. Photocopying facilitates are provided inside the library. Depository Lockers are also available during library hours.

       Library orientation is done once a year for newly admitted students. Library tours are also conducted periodically or occasionally for visitors. Library services are supported and provided by librarian personnel working through four library divisions (general, acquisition, cataloging, and circulation liaison).

Language Laboratory

       There are two language laboratories Located on the second floor, each one is an instructor controlled that can accommodate up to 25 students. It is designed for practicing various kinds of linguistic activities including listening exercises, oral comprehension, simultaneous translation and interactive communication.

Audio - Visual Resources Center

       The center is established mainly to provide a wide range of different instructional media to all departments within the faculty to add a creative updated dimension to the teaching - learning process. It is located in the third floor and contains different variety of hard wares such as slide, projectors, overhead projectors, epidiascope, video-cassette recorders and T.V. monitor sets for educational purposes. It also contains video cameras, editing unit and a completely equipped dark room for different software production purposes.  It maintains a well-equipped software library including motion pictures, filmstrips, tapes, Slides transparencies, and video programs. The technical staff record micro- teaching demonstrations and other school activities. The center also offers training for teachers and students in educational Media and Technology.


Computer Resources

       Computer resources are available to faculty, students, staff, and administration in the form of; nursing computer center (NCC), automated control system, and departmental, administrative as well library computers. The NCC is responsible for providing computing services to the faculty members, researchers and students. This includes providing consultation, training, technical assistance as well as designing and implementing computer literacy programs for faculty and students. It also makes available to users a multitude of software packages, for example, statistics, accounting and document creation.  A software library will be established by NCC in the near future. The automated control system is designed to compute student's final grades. While the rest are utilized to manage the department administrative and library affairs.


Skills Laboratory

       The ultimate goal for the skills laboratory is to provide an environment which is conducive to learning and practicing psychomotor skills used in the clinical area. Students should become proficient in the laboratory before implementing the skills in the clinical setting. The skills laboratory is located on the ground floor of the faculty's building. It includes two rooms, one, which is designed as a simulated patient care area. The other one is equipped with different types of models to provide students with visual, tactile and simulated training. In addition, there are central supply, scrub, handicapped bath, linen, and storage rooms.

Anatomy Laboratory

       The anatomy laboratory is located in left side of the 2nd floor. It consists of a storage room and a wide room in which simulated body parts and related audiovisual materials are organized in a way conducive to learning.
